Dodgeball

Life is like dodgeball. Well I say this because its a pretty good anecdote. I don't want my kids to experience pain, but I do let them. It's part of growing up balanced. Life is painful. How we deal with it is part of our character development. There are issues and situations that are thrown at us. We dodge them or catch them and throw them back. Sometimes we get hit hard and we are out. Sometimes its just a glancing blow, same outcome. You're out. But not permanently out. You can play again if you so choose. At times you get hammered by the 8th grader who's been growing a beard since he was 5 and he drills you. It brings on unbelievable pain along with a large red whelp to remind you of the hit. Me I would play again and go after him. Sometimes I would get him out, sometimes I'm out again. I always played the game. I never turned down a chance to play. Nor did I hide in the back behind others till they got hit and were out. Hiding in the back you cannot really see what's happening in front. Also you don't see clearly what's heading for you. Pick up a ball and boldly start living or rejoin life....
